The representation of a multivariate polynomial as the sum of univariate polynomials in linear forms

要旨

Let f be a polynomial of degree d in n variables over a field K of characteristic 0 or greater than d. We shall show that if |K| > 2d-3, then f is the sum of (n + d - 2|d - 1) univariate polynomials over K in linear forms. Some related questions will be considered concerning the case, where f is homogeneous.
